Postpartum Herbal Bath Preparation - Mother & Newborn

Mother

Traditionally used postpartum to prevent 'wind' going into your body that can make you fall ill as your immune system has been compromised after the stresses placed on your body post birth.

A blend of natural herbs such as Mugwort (Ai Ye) supports you body by stimulating blood circulation, removing 'wind' from the body, and strengthening your muscles and joints, while relieving mild swelling and pains from your childbirth. The blend is suitable for both natural and c-section birthing methods.

You may still shower after a herbal bath. If you do not have a bath tub, you can use a pail and apply onto the body as a sponge wash.

Add

  • 30g ginger sliced
  • 2L water

Method

1. Add ~ 2L water into a pot with herbal bath pack (you may use the cotton muslin bags to keep the herbs neat) and ginger. Bring to boil.

2. Simmer on low for 15 - 30 mins until the liquid becomes brown and strain herbs.

3. Add herbal concentrate into a bath tub or pail for a full-body sponge bath and top up with your desired amount of warm water.

4. Enjoy warm.

     

    Newborn  

    Add

    • 1.5L water

    Method

    1. Add 1.5L water into a pot with herbal bath pack (you may use the cotton muslin bags to keep the herbs neat). Bring to boil.

    3. Add herbal concentrate into a bath tub or pail for a full-body sponge bath and top up with your desired amount of warm water.

    4. Enjoy warm.

     

    Notes

    • NOT FOR CONSUMPTION. EXTERNAL USE ONLY.
    • The longer the herbs are immersed in boiling water, the more the benefits of the herbs are enhanced.
    • You may reuse the herbal pack once. For repeated use, squeeze out excess water and store in a container in the fridge once cooled.
