How to Use Your Chinese Baddie Staples ✨

The options are endless and best used based on your body constitution and health goals, but here are 6 ways to begin your journey.

1.    Menstrual Support Tea with Apples

Best for: gentle warmth and women's menstrual cycle support, digestion support & everyday glow

This warming combination is traditionally enjoyed to support digestion, circulation and gentle nourishment, especially on cooler days or when your body feels a little sluggish. Chinese brown sugar also adds extra blood circulation properties to support women's health.

You’ll need:

·       6 red dates (pitted)

·       1 tbsp goji berries

·       2 thin slices fresh ginger

·       1 apple, thinly sliced

·       1L water

·      Option to add Chinese brown sugar to taste

How to make:

1.     Rinse all ingredients.

2.     Add all ingredients except goji berries, to a pot with water.

3.     Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer.

4.     Simmer for 15–25 minutes until fragrant and naturally sweet.

5.     Add goji berries in the last 5 minutes.

6.     Add brown Chinese sugar to taste.

7.     Strain or enjoy as is, warm.

How to enjoy:
Sip slowly in the morning or afternoon as a comforting daily ritual.

Chinese Baddie Tip:
Make a larger batch and reheat throughout the day. Warm drinks > iced drinks when it comes to long-term balance.

 

2. Chinese Baddie Daily Glow Tea

Best for: everyday balance, hydration, glow

You’ll need:

·       2–3 red dates (pitted)

·       1 tbsp goji berries

·       1 tsp dried chrysanthemum flowers

·       500–700ml hot water

How to make:

1.     Rinse all ingredients.

2.     Add to a teapot or mug.

3.     Pour over hot water and steep for 10–15 minutes.

4.     Refill with hot water once or twice.

This is a gentle, daily tea you can sip warm or at room temperature throughout the day.

 

3. Calm & Sleep Tea (Evening Ritual)

Best for: winding down, busy minds, gentle nourishment.

Traditionally enjoyed when feeling tired, overworked or mentally overstimulated.

You’ll need:

·       3 red dates (pitted)

·       5 pieces of longan

·       1 tsp goji berries

·       500ml hot water

How to make:

1.     Rinse all ingredients.

2.     Add to a teapot or mug.

3.     Pour over hot water and steep for 10–15 minutes.

4.     Refill with hot water once or twice.

Traditionally enjoyed when feeling tired, overworked or mentally overstimulated.

 

4. Cooling Clear Skin Chrysanthemum Tea

Best for: summer heat, breakouts, screen fatigue

A classic pairing traditionally used to help cool internal heat and support clarity.

You’ll need:

·       1–2 tsp chrysanthemum flowers

·       1 tsp goji berries

·       400–500ml hot water

How to make:

1.     Steep ingredients in hot water for 8–10 minutes.

2.     Drink warm or allow to cool and serve over ice.

 

5. Chinese Baddie Nourishing Soup

Best for: deeper nourishment, skin + energy support

Soups are considered one of the most nourishing ways to consume herbs in Chinese culture.

You’ll need:

·       5 red dates (pitted)

·       1 tbsp goji berries

·       6–8 longan

·       500g chicken (drumsticks, feet for more collagen, or a mixture of both)

·       3 pieces of shiitake mushrooms rinsed

·      3 slices of ginger

·       1–1.5L water

How to make:

1. Blanch wash chicken in a pot 

Prepare a pot of boiling water. Add protein to a pot and ensure water covers the protein. Bring back to boil.

Once the liquid has boiled, boil for an extra 1 minute before discarding the liquid. You may notice some brown foam and impurities surface.

Give the protein another thorough rinse under water to clean any impurities and fat.

2.     Add washed chicken, red dates, longan, shiitake mushrooms, ginger and water into a pot.

3.     Simmer for 1–2 hours (or slow cook 4–6 hours).

4.     Add goji berries in the last 5 minutes of the cook.

5.     Add salt to taste and enjoy!

 

6. Chinese Baddie Summer Ice Tea

Best for: hot days, inner glow

You’ll need:

·       2 tsp chrysanthemum

·       1 tbsp goji berries

·       1 Asian pear, thinly sliced

·       1L  water

How to make:

1.     Rinse all ingredients.

2.     Add all ingredients except goji berries, to a pot with water.

3.     Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer.

4.     Simmer for 15–25 minutes until fragrant and naturally sweet.

5.     Add goji berries in the last 5 minutes.

7.     Strain and refrigerate until cold.

Chinese Baddie upgrade: Add a splash of coconut water.
