Crafted in partnership with The Herborium, our blends are made with A–AAA grade or Organic herbs and formulated by a qualified, experienced TCM practitioner for both healing properties and flavour.

General Usage Guideline for Herbal Blends

Each Gentle Traditions blend is packaged in sets of 3 packets, thoughtfully measured to support one week of herbal nourishment.

You may prepare one packet per day for three separate servings

or

Use all 3 packets together to create a bulk batch (e.g., tea or soup for the week)

In traditional herbal practice it is common to recommend not having the same herbal preparation regularly for longer than 3 consecutive months. 



 


 

Herbal Tea Instructions

How to Brew:

  1. Rinse 1 packet of the tea blend with filtered water.

  2. Add with 3 slices of fresh ginger into a herb kettle, stainless steel, ceramic, or clay pot.

  3. Pour in 600ml of filtered water.

  4. Bring to boil, then simmer for 20-40 minutes, to bring down to 500ml.
    Longer simmering creates a sweeter more concentrated flavour.

  5. Strain before drinking.

Serving Options

  • 1 packet with 600ml water = 2 - 4 serves over 1 - 2 days

  • 3 packets with 1.5–2L water = batch prep (3–4 serves)

  • Keep warm in a thermos flask and sip throughout the day.

 


 

Herbal Soup Instructions

Full Batch Cooking

Slow Cooker Method

  • Add 3 packets of tea herbs, rinsed

  • Add protein (e.g. 500g bone-in chicken) and aromatics (e.g. ginger, mushrooms).

  • Pour in 2.5L filtered water.

  • Cook on low for 6–8 hours.

  • Add goji berries in the final 20 minutes.

  • Optional: use muslin bags for easy herb removal.

Stovetop Method

  1. Blanch protein (meat of choice) in boiling water, discard, and rinse.

  2. Bring 2L of water to a boil in your soup pot.

  3. Add rinsed herbs (in muslin), protein, and aromatics.

  4. Boil for 10 minutes, then simmer for 2–3 hours.

  5. Add goji berries 10 minutes before serving.

  6. Season with salt, rice wine, or sake if using. Rest 5 minutes before serving.

Strain herbs before consuming.

 


 

Recommended Add-ins

  • Protein (or vegetables or Tofu for vegan)

  • 4 slices ginger

  • Mushrooms, tofu, root vegetables, nuts, fresh herbs

  • Salt to taste

  • Optional: 1 tbsp Shaoxing rice wine or Japanese cooking sake

 


 

Cooking Tips

  • The longer you cook, the richer the tonic.

  • Simmer overnight for full infusion.

  • For bone broth benefits, cook 8+ hours.

  • Skim fat for a cleaner broth.

  • Roast bones before cooking for deeper flavour.

 


 

Storage Guidelines

  • Transfer herbs to airtight containers upon delivery.

  • Store in the refrigerator to preserve potency and shelf life.
