They say the key to a happy home is a happy mother, and there’s truth to this. A mother deserves to be well taken care of first, so both the baby and the rest of the family can thrive. If a mother doesn’t nourish herself during this time, the effects can last for years.
We can’t stress enough the importance of investing in your nourishment during the postpartum period. We’re here to support you energetically through the wonderful gift of Chinese herbs. Our hope is to share this wisdom, steeped in thousands of years of ancient history, and to change the narrative of postpartum care in today’s society.

FAQ's
Do I need special equipment to cook herbal tonic soups?
The best pots to use are ceramic or clay, followed by glass or stainless steel, to fully benefit from the Chinese herbs. These materials are least likely to interact with the herbs. Please avoid using aluminium or copper pots. If you have a double boiler or slow cooker, these will further enhance the flavours and extract the nutrients from the herbs and ingredients.
How do I store the herbs?
Once received, store the herbs in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, or, even better, in the fridge to preserve freshness.
Can you customise the blends to my medical condition?
Please let us know if you have any serious conditions or allergies to any herbs, and we will remove them from the package. Our herbal blends are curated for the average healthy adult. For any serious medical conditions, please consult your TCM practitioner to create blends suited to your body constitution.
Do your blends come with cooking instructions?
Yes, your package will include a guide to your curated plan. The guide will provide easy-to-follow cooking instructions, recommended proteins for each blend, and a complete list of ingredients. We have designed the blends and cooking process to be as straightforward as possible to maximise the benefits of the herbs. Many of our customers have handed over the herbal soup cooking responsibilities to their partners, family, and/or friends! The instructions will be similar to this.
Do I need any special ingredients?
Our aim is to make the cooking process as simple as possible with minimal steps, resulting in a nutrient-dense bowl of soup. The optional additional ingredients can be easily found at your local supermarket. We recommend using protein and ginger as a minimum for each blend. Recommended proteins include chicken, black chicken, or pork, but these are not mandatory; you can use your preferred protein or vegetables. Optional aromatics such as dried or fresh mushrooms, carrots, corn, nuts, beans, dried seafood, etc., can also be added to enhance the nutrient and flavour profile. If you have any traditional postpartum wines organised, they can also be added to the soup. The red dates tea and herbal bath only require water and fresh ginger as additions.
Do I have to start the plan day 1 postpartum?
The Detoxing Sheng Hua Tonic Granules will be the first blend for the first 4 days and is recommended you consume this from day 1 postpartum. Day 1 begins the day after you give birth. However if you cannot start from day 1 postpartum and need to wait until you return home to begin your package, no stress, that is okay! We just recommend that you do not skip the Detoxing Sheng Hua Tonic and follow the plan in chronological order.
How do I make payment?
Once you’re happy with the plan and we receive your confirmation to proceed, we’ll send a separate invoice for your review. Once payment is made, you can relax knowing your spot is secured!
How often do you deliver the herbs? Are they in multiple batches or just one delivery?
We will send out your herbs in one batch, typically three weeks before your EDD, unless otherwise discussed.
Does the herbal soup packages have a variety or are they just one type?
There will be a variety of soups, and we aim to keep things interesting! The number and types of blends will vary depending on the package you choose.
Is the package suitable for caesarean births?
Yes, our packages are specially formulated to be suitable for both caesarean and natural births. This means you don’t have to worry about which delivery method you end up having.
Can my family drink the soups too?
Your adult family members can consume the soups; however, we do not recommend that they drink them daily, as they may be too strong for their bodies. Monitor how they feel after drinking the soups. If they feel 'A-okay,' then feel free to let them continue enjoying them! In TCM, becoming a mother alters a woman at her core—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The body becomes imbalanced in yin and yang due to the immense energy expended during labour and delivery, as well as the loss of blood and fluids. This is a key consideration when creating this herbal package, which is specifically designed to replenish the mother.
